| Reverse description | The reverse presents a bold portrait bust of Vasyl Vyshyvanyi (Wilhelm Franz Karl von Habsburg-Lothringen, 1895–1948) facing three-quarters left, depicted wearing a vyshyvanka — a traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt — beneath a kozhukh (sheepskin coat), garments emblematic of his adopted Ukrainian identity. To the left of the portrait, a decorative ornamental motif incorporating stylised clover leaves is rendered in low relief; this clover device served as a talisman for the soldiers of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen and adorned the cover of Vyshyvanyi's poetry collection Passing Days, dedicated to the fighters for Ukrainian freedom. The legend ВАСИЛЬ ВИШИВАНИЙ arcs above, with the life dates 1895–1948 positioned in the lower field. The overall composition is executed in a fine engraved portrait style characteristic of Ukrainian commemorative issues. |
