Obverse description The obverse features the small arms of Ukraine — the trident (tризуб) within a shield — prominently displayed at the top center of the field. Flanking the central legends, an ornate wreath of naturalistic flora frames the design: grapevine with clusters of berries and a perched songbird to the left, and oak branches with acorns and a butterfly to the right. Additional flora including mushrooms, flowers, and a small snail appear in the lower portion of the wreath. The Cyrillic legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) arcs across the upper field, with the denomination numeral 2 and the word ГРИВНІ below it, and the date 2000 in the lower exergue. The mint mark of the Kyiv Banknote Printing and Minting Works appears at the bottom center.
