| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a central vertical band bearing a stylised tryzub (Ukrainian state emblem) rendered in an interlaced Celtic-Viking knotwork style, set against a polished field. Flanking the central band on both sides are two wider panels filled with elaborate interlaced zoomorphic ornamental motifs in a Scandinavian-Rus decorative tradition. A smaller tryzub in shield form appears at the top centre, above the Cyrillic legend УКРАЇНА and the date 2022. The denomination 2₴ is inscribed at the base of the central panel. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Elisiv of Kyiv — known in Norse sources as Ellisif — was the daughter of Yaroslav the Wise and the wife of Harald Hardrada, the Norwegian king whose 1066 invasion of England ended at Stamford Bridge three weeks before Hastings. According to the Heimskringla, Harald pursued Elisiv for years before she agreed to marry him, and she accompanied him to Norway after his campaigns in the Varangian Guard. The coin was issued amid Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, part of a broader NBU program reasserting Kyivan Rus heritage as distinctly Ukrainian.
