Obverse description A stylized Baroque composition dominates the field, featuring hand-written sheet music set against ornate floral scrollwork, above which a pair of six-winged seraphim are depicted in high relief, symbolizing the spiritual grandeur of the composer's sacred oeuvre. Against a smooth lower field, the Cyrillic legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), rendered in the decorative RuteniaDecor script, arcs above Ukraine's small state coat of arms (trident). To the left of the coat of arms appears the face value numeral 2 accompanied by the hryvnia graphical symbol, while to the right the split issue year 20/21 is inscribed. The mint mark of the NBU Banknote Printing and Minting Works is positioned to the lower right in the smooth field.

Reverse description The reverse presents a finely modeled bust of the Ukrainian-born composer Dmytro Bortnianskyi in three-quarter profile facing right, depicted in 18th-century dress with an embroidered jabot and powdered wig, rendered in detailed relief against a smooth background. To the left of the portrait, the Cyrillic legend ДМИТРО БОРТНЯНСЬКИЙ is inscribed vertically in bold stylized lettering, flanked by decorative floral motifs. The birth year 1751 appears at lower left and the death year 1825 at upper right, each set within ornamental cartouches, framing the subject's lifespan within the overall composition.
