Obverse description Elaborately interlaced cypher monogram of Landgrave William VIII occupying the central field, rendered in ornate calligraphic script with flowing flourishes. The monogram is surmounted by a princely crown positioned at the top of the field. The overall design is executed in raised relief against a plain copper field, with a fine milled border encircling the coin.
