Obverse description Central field features the large interlocking monogram letters KGL, abbreviation for Kriegsgefangenenlager (prisoner of war camp), rendered in an ornate Art Nouveau style. The date 1915 appears at the bottom of the design, flanked by decorative foliate scrollwork and leaf sprays filling the field.
