| Obverse description | Printed in black letterpress on pink paper, the obverse is framed by a decorative border of repeating ornamental motifs. A bold black header band at the top carries the issuer's title in white capitals, flanked by large numeral '2' panels at each corner. The central text block sets out the redemption conditions in German, interrupted by a circular black vignette at centre bearing the denomination '2 Heller' in white within a dotted guilloche ring, accompanied by foliate sprays to either side. A lower text panel states the non-redemption conditions for defaced notes, with the word 'LAGERGELD' (camp money) displayed in a matching black footer band. |

K.K. Barackenverwaltung Landegg was the imperial Austrian administration overseeing a wartime refugee camp at Landegg during the First World War — one of dozens of internment and refugee facilities the Habsburg authorities established to manage the massive displacement caused by the Eastern Front campaigns, particularly the Russian advances into Galicia in 1914 and 1915. Hundreds of thousands of civilians were relocated westward, and camp scrip like this filled the gap left by a chronic shortage of small-denomination coinage across the Austrian home front.
The pink paper distinguishes the 2 Heller from other denominations in the series. Camp currency of this type was redeemable only within the facility, making survival outside the camp essentially an accident of history.
