正面描述 Within a raised circular border, a prominent tetrahedron (triangular pyramid) occupies the upper field, rendered in bold relief. Below the tetrahedron, the initial letter F flanked by two six-pointed stars appears in the lower field of the inner circle. The circumferential legend reads GOTT • IST • VNSER • ECKSTEIN (God is our cornerstone) with the date 1623 incorporated into the legend at the top. No denomination punch is present on this variety. The entire design is set on a square klippe flan with characteristic irregular edges consistent with emergency siege coinage production.

附加信息

Frankenthal was one of the last Palatinate strongholds to fall during the opening phase of the Thirty Years' War. Spanish forces under Gonzalo de Córdoba besieged the city from 1621, and the garrison held out until 1623 — an unusually protracted resistance. Siege coinage was struck from whatever silver the defenders could gather, which is why these klippen exist in multiple weight standards and why KM#9.3 represents just one node in a series of emergency denominations.

The square flan is a direct consequence of speed: clipping sheet silver into rough squares was faster than preparing round blanks.
