Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the crowned shield of West Friesland bearing two passant lions is centrally displayed, surmounted by an elaborate crown with floral ornaments. The date 1682 appears divided at the top of the inner circle, while the denomination 2 G is placed flanking the lower portion of the shield. The circumferential legend reads MO : NO : ARGENT : ORDIN : WESTF, separated by decorative stops. The square klippe planchet extends beyond the circular design, with the corners left plain as characteristic of hammered klippe coinage.
