背面描述 The reverse is essentially blank, showing only the broad, unworked surface of the square silver klippe flan with chamfered corners. A faint circular depression or incuse ghost impression from the obverse strike is visible in the centre of the field, as is typical of hammered siege coinage produced under emergency conditions. The surface retains a natural patina consistent with the coin's age and silver composition.

附加信息

Haarlem held out against Spanish forces for seven months before surrendering in July 1573, and these siege pieces were struck from melted silver plate — church goods, domestic items, whatever could be requisitioned — as the city's regular coin supply collapsed under blockade. The authorization came directly from the civic government as a deliberate act of monetary continuity under siege conditions, not improvisation.

The multiple reference numbers across Delmonte, Gelder, and Maillet reflect genuine die variation within the type; these were not struck with the precision of a functioning mint.
