| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The king's hair falls in long, flowing curls behind the neck, with a laurel wreath adorning the head. A fine border of beads (dentils) frames the design at the rim. The legend GEORGIVS · III · DEI · GRA · encircles the effigy, reading from the upper left to the right. The portrait is attributed to the engraver Richard Yeo and displays a confident, idealized treatment characteristic of mid-Georgian pattern coinage. |
