| Obverse description | Crowned quartered shield of arms of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg, the dexter half bearing horizontal stripes alternating plain and dotted (representing the arms of Oldenburg), the sinister half displaying a Nordic cross on a lined field (representing the arms of Delmenhorst), the whole surmounted by a royal crown and flanked symmetrically by two outward-curving olive or laurel branches. The design is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the fields. |
