Obverse description Quartered shield of arms surmounted by a grand ducal crown, the quarters displaying the heraldic devices of Oldenburg and its associated territories. The shield is flanked on either side by a wreath of laurel or oak branches. The abbreviated legend N.D.C.F. appears in the field. The overall design is rendered in a compact, neo-classical style typical of early 19th-century German minor coinage.

Reverse description The denomination and date are displayed in four lines across the centre of the field in bold, serif capital lettering: the numeral '2' flanked by pellets on the first line, followed by 'GROTE', then 'O·L·M·' as an abbreviation for Oldenburg Landes Münze, and the date '1815' on the lowest line. The design is plain and functional, with no additional border ornament beyond the coin's milled edge.
