Obverse description The Polish state eagle (coat of arms of Poland as adopted in 1927), displayed with wings spread and head turned to the right, rendered in a stylized Art Deco manner. The eagle is crowned and shown without a shield on its breast, characteristic of the Republican heraldic design used from 1927 to 1939. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA runs along the periphery, interrupted at the top by the date 1939 flanked by two small dots.
