Beschrijving voorzijde Central field dominated by a large ornate cross pattée, the arms of which terminate in decorative fleurs or trefoil finials, set within a beaded inner circle. Above the cross, a small six-pointed star is visible in the upper field. The surrounding legend in Gothic Latin characters reads +ELIAS WOIWODA, identifying the co-ruler Iliaş as voivode. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and uneven strike typical of mid-15th century Moldavian hammered silver coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Stephen II ruled Moldavia in an uneasy co-principate with his half-brother Iliaş — a dynastic arrangement born of competing claims rather than genuine partnership. The joint coinage reflects the political compromise that allowed both men to reign simultaneously, though their relationship deteriorated into open conflict. Iliaş was eventually captured by Stephen, blinded, and deposed around 1442, ending both the co-rule and the series of coins struck under it.
