The legend reads in full across all lines, referencing the duke's titles and the date of the anniversary celebration, 25 June 1730. The coin is struck in the milled style with a beaded border encircling the inscribed field. |

A circular Latin legend surrounds the central motif, separated from it by a beaded inner border, reading 'RETINEANT POSTERI CONFESS:MAI: FID:APOST: CONCORDANT' — urging posterity to retain the Augsburg Confession in agreement with apostolic faith.
