| Beschrijving voorzijde | Seven-line Latin commemorative inscription occupying the central field, reading IMPERII / A TURC GALLIS Q / DEFENSOR VICT / NAT M·DC·XLVII / OBIT TUBIN / A·MDC·XCI / XII·SEPT, recording the birth and death dates of Elector John George III in Roman numerals. The mint officials' initials I·K appear flanking a small oval cartouche at the foot of the inscription, enclosing the denomination mark '2 G' (2 Groschen). A continuous circular outer legend in Latin runs along the beaded border, identifying the deceased elector by name and title. |

The Latin motto IEHOVA·VEXILLVM·MEVM ('Jehovah is my banner') arcs across the upper field as a border legend between the inner beaded circle and the outer milled edge, expressing the Elector's pious military creed. |
