| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large pattee cross divides the field into four quarters, with a stylized fleur-de-lis at its centre. The four angles of the cross are alternately occupied by fleurs-de-lis and rampant lions, emblematic of the County of Flanders and the Burgundian dynasty. The cross cuts through the inner beaded circle and intersects the surrounding legend. The circumferential inscription in Gothic uncial script identifies the piece as a new coin of the County of Flanders. The design is boldly executed in the hammered tradition, with strong relief on the heraldic charges. |
