| Reverse description | Central field features a large long cross pattée extending to the inner border, dividing the field into four quadrants, each containing a distinct heraldic emblem: a fleur-de-lis, a lion passant, a Burgundian ragged cross (croix de Saint-André), and an additional dynastic device, reflecting the composite territorial claims of Charles the Bold. The intersection of the cross is decorated with a small central ornament. The marginal legend in Gothic uncial Latin characters is separated from the central design by a raised inner circle, and reads the mint attribution of the Duchy of Brabant. The hammered flan shows characteristic irregularity, with some weakness at the rim. |
