Reverse description A cross pattee is struck at the centre of the die, its arms extending nearly to the inner legend circle, dividing the field into four quarters. In the angles of the cross, alternating lions passant and fleurs-de-lis are placed, a heraldic arrangement characteristic of Brabantine coinage of the period. The design is enclosed by a double concentric legend, the interior and exterior legends both rendered in Gothic uncial script. The overall layout follows the standard double-legend long-cross type prevalent in the Low Countries during the early fifteenth century.
