Reverse description A long cross pattee extends to the periphery, dividing the field into four quadrants and intersecting two concentric circular legends rendered in Gothic lettering. At the centre of the cross, a quartered shield bears the arms of Burgundy. The cross terminals are elaborately flared in the pattee style characteristic of late medieval Brabantine coinage. The outer legend reads MONETA DVX BRABANTIE ET LIMB, identifying the issuing authority as Duke of Brabant and Limburg.
