Obverse description Within a polylobe border, a quartered lozenge (losange) bearing the combined arms of Bavaria and Hainaut — respectively, the Bavarian lozengy field and the Hainaut lion — arranged in alternating quarters. The surrounding circular legend, separated by trefoil stops, commences with a trefoil and is rendered in Gothic majuscule script.

(Translation: Duke Albert, by God`s grace Count of Hainaut)
Reverse description A floriated cross occupying the full field, with a quadrilobe at the center enclosing an H monogram. In each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross, alternating heraldic charges appear — lions and spread eagles — referencing the dual dignities of the issuing count. The circumferential legend in Gothic majuscule is separated by trefoil stops.
