Opmerkingen

The United States Banknote Company closed operations in 1989, making this 1990-dated issue almost certainly printed before the firm's dissolution — either from final press runs completed in late 1989 or from dated stock released into circulation afterward. USBNC had printed Haitian currency for decades, and the relationship outlasted the company itself by a bureaucratic technicality.

The 2 Gourdes denomination had limited practical purchasing power by 1990, when Haiti was deep into the political instability that followed the fall of the Duvalier regime in 1986. Notes of this value circulated hard and fast.
