| Descrizione del rovescio | Central quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Livonian Order, including the Order's cross and lion passant, surmounted by a decorative cross pattée. Two crowned lion supporters flank the shield on either side, rendered in the late Gothic style characteristic of Baltic coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads MARIA · FILI · SERVA · NOS, invoking the Son of Mary for protection. The overall composition is bold and deeply struck, with the charges clearly differentiated within the quarters of the shield. The reverse design reflects the devotional and heraldic traditions of the Teutonic and Livonian orders. |
