| Reverse description | A prominent eight-pointed star with radiating lines fills the entire field, at the center of which is a raised circular medallion bearing the rampant Hessian lion passant, crowned, within an inner beaded circle. The legend VIRTVTE ET FIDELITATE encircles the central medallion between the inner and outer borders of the star. The date and mint mark appear in the lower exergual area between the points of the star, split as 17 · B · R · 77, denoting the Kassel mint and the year 1777. |
