Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Frederick William III facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair. The truncation of the neck is unadorned, giving the portrait a classical, neoclassical character. The circular legend reads FRIEDR. WILH. III KOENIG V. PREUSSEN around the upper periphery, with the Berlin mint mark 'A' positioned at the base of the portrait. The entire design is framed by a fine inner beaded border.

The date 1830 appears prominently in the lower field beneath the central device. The design is contained within a beaded border consistent with the obverse, with no additional legend on the reverse.
