| Popis líce | Printed entirely in red on cream paper, the obverse is framed by an elaborate letterpress border of interlaced foliate and scrollwork ornament, with small vignettes of the city and commerce arms at left and right. At the top centre, a composite heraldic vignette flanked by two mascaron heads appears beneath ribbon scrolls bearing the issuing authority's name. The denomination DEUX FRANCS is set in large bold type at centre, with the approval legend, redeemability clause, date 1917, the notation ÉMISSION DE REMPLACEMENT, and two manuscript signatures of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor of Le Havre disposed above and below; the serial number is printed in a cartouche at the foot. |
