| Obverse description | Figure of Hercules kneeling on one knee to the right, drawing a longbow, rendered in bold relief against a plain field. To the left stands a crowned Grimaldi shield surmounted by a princely crown, flanked by the motto DEO JVVANTE in the field below. The circular legend HERCUL·MONOEC· frames the upper portion of the design, referencing the mythological patron of Monaco. The date 1924 appears in the exergue, and the engraver's signature E.M.LINDAUER is inscribed along the lower register. The overall design reflects the Art Deco aesthetic characteristic of French medallic art of the period. |
