The Banque de la Guyane's wartime and immediate postwar emergency issues were a direct consequence of the supply chain collapse affecting French overseas territories — metropolitan printing resources were unavailable, and local stopgaps filled the gap. The P#11 series for French Guiana spans several closely related varieties distinguished by signature combinations, and 11C is among the scarcer pairings.
Watermark aside, these notes offered minimal anti-counterfeiting protection, which was considered acceptable given the remote circulation territory and small population of the colony at the time.
