| Obverse description | Blue-grey letterpress note with an ornate guilloche border enclosing a detailed harbour vignette at centre-bottom, showing sailing vessels, quays, and Norman townscape with a tower at right, likely the Old Dock of Honfleur. At upper centre, two heraldic shields — those of Caen and Honfleur — are flanked by palm fronds, surmounted by the issuer's title in a decorative cartouche. The denomination 'DEUX FRANCS' appears in a central oval reserve, with series and number printed to the left and right respectively, and two facsimile signatures below the title designations of each Chamber president.
