The issuer's title, CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE BERGERAC, appears in a decorative purple cartouche at the top, flanked by foliate sprigs at each corner. The denomination DEUX FRANCS is set in large bold letterpress type across the centre, with the numeral 2 in circular side panels, and signature lines for Le Président and Le Trésorier above the dated lower cartouche reading 5 OCTOBRE 1914. |

Bergerac's Chamber of Commerce began issuing emergency fractional notes in late 1914 as the mobilization drained coin from circulation almost overnight. The Banque de France could not keep pace with demand for small change, and chambers of commerce across the Dordogne and neighboring departments stepped in under emergency authorization — a stopgap that ended up lasting years longer than anyone anticipated.
Printed by Pierre Dumont in Limoges, a house that supplied several southwestern chambers during this period. The watermark security was modest by any measure, but counterfeiting these low-denomination locals was rarely worth the effort.
