| 裏面の説明 | Large numeral 2 dominates the central field, with the denomination FRANCS inscribed below. To the left of the numeral stands a palm tree motif, and to the right a king penguin, both rendered in relief as emblematic fauna of the French Southern Territories. The circular legend TERRES AUSTRALES ET ANTARCTIQUES FRANÇAISES runs along the upper periphery, with the date 2024 flanked by dots at the base. A small conch shell mint mark appears below the date. The design is enclosed within a beaded border. |

Juan de Nova is a French-administered island in the Mozambique Channel, claimed also by Madagascar and the Comoros, with no permanent civilian population — making any coin "issued" from it a legal fiction dressed up for the collector market. These pieces carry no circulating mandate and were never intended to function as money in any conventional sense.
