Obverse description Central motif features a hammer and wheat ear superimposed on a radiant sunburst background, enclosed within a laurel wreath. A five-pointed star appears above the central device. The circular legend reads 'MAGYAR NEPKOZTARSASAG' (Hungarian People's Republic) along the upper periphery, with the date and the trial strike designation 'P.V.' (Proba veret) below. The overall design is executed in a socialist realist style typical of mid-20th century Hungarian coinage.

Reverse description The large numeral '2' dominates the center of the field in bold relief. Below the numeral, the mint mark 'BP.' identifies the Budapest Mint. The denomination inscription 'FORINT' arcs along the lower portion of the field, flanked on either side by stylized laurel branches that form a partial wreath enclosing the design. The composition is clean and boldly struck, consistent with a trial piece intended for design evaluation.
