Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair swept up and secured with a ribbon, wearing a jewelled coronet. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine hair detail characteristic of the Young Head portrait. The encircling legend reads VICTORIA D : G : BRITANNIAR : REG : F : D : in raised Latin capitals, separated by raised dots, running along the inner border of the milled rim.
