Reverse description The reverse bears a two-line Arabic inscription divided by a horizontal line across the field. The upper line reads the mint name Marrakesh (مراكش) and the lower line bears the Hijri date 1278, corresponding to 1861-1862 CE. The legends are rendered in bold, somewhat crude cast Arabic script typical of provincial Moroccan falus coinage of the reign of Sultan Sidi Mohammed IV.
