2 Euros Suvalkija

Part of Lithuania's ongoing ethnographic regions series, this issue commemorates Suvalkija — the smallest of the country's five traditional regions, occupying the southwestern corner near the Polish and Kaliningrad borders. Suvalkija's cultural identity was shaped in part by decades of Prussian administration before Lithuanian independence in 1918, producing a regional character distinct from the other four zones the series covers.
