Beschrijving voorzijde The inner disc features a dynamic depiction of a downhill skier executing a sharp left-hand turn on the piste, the figure leaning into the arc and propelling snow upward toward the upper left of the field. The composition captures the skier mid-turn, with the lower leg, skis, and extended right arm holding a ski pole remaining prominently visible, conveying a strong sense of motion and athleticism. The legend ANDORRA and the date 2024 are inscribed within the inner disc. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union arranged in a continuous circle, as standard for euro coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Andorra joined the eurozone through a monetary agreement with the EU in 2011 — not as a member state, but as a micro-state authorized to issue its own euro coins. The arrangement required separate negotiation from the broader EU accession process, and Andorra only began striking its own coins in 2014. Skiing is, practically speaking, the economic backbone of the country; the Grandvalira and Vallnord resorts account for a substantial share of national GDP and tourism receipts.
