| Additional information |
Sipsik is the beloved rag doll protagonist of Eno Raud's 1962 children's novel of the same name, one of the most widely read works in Estonian children's literature. The book has remained continuously in print and was adapted for television during the Soviet period, giving it an unusual cultural continuity across two radically different political systems. Estonia's commemorative euro program has leaned heavily on literary and cultural figures; this issue follows a pattern of honoring distinctly Estonian intellectual heritage rather than political or historical events.
