| Reverse description | The common European reverse, designed by Luc Luycx, features the large numeral '2' dominating the left portion of the nickel-brass center field, with the word 'EURO' inscribed to the right. A cartographic representation of the European continent, rendered without borders between member states, occupies the center-right of the field, extending across both the inner and outer portions of the bimetallic disc. Six stars are arranged to the left of the map on the inner field, with a further six stars and the engraver's initials 'LL' positioned on the copper-nickel outer ring to the right. The design reflects the first-series pan-European reverse type issued from 2002. |
