Reverse description The reverse follows the common design for the 2 Euro denomination, depicting a geographic map of the European continent rendered without national borders, set against a background of longitudinal lines representing a globe. The face value 2 EURO appears to the left of the map in large numerals, with the mint mark engraver's initials LL positioned below. The twelve stars of the European Union are divided between the upper left and lower right areas of the central disc, and the outer ring features the word EURO and the numeral 2 repeated in microlettering around the circumference.

Additional information

Andorra began issuing its own euro coinage only in 2014, following a monetary agreement with the European Union signed in June 2011 — decades after the principality had been using French francs and Spanish pesetas, then euros, without any formal right to mint. This particular issue commemorates the country's 1993 constitution, which transformed Andorra from a feudal co-principality under joint French and Episcopal suzerainty into a parliamentary democracy with codified civil rights for the first time in its 700-year history.
