French Polynesia is an overseas collectivity of France but falls outside the Eurozone entirely — it uses the CFP franc, issued by the Institut d'émission d'outre-mer. This piece was never a proposal for actual circulation; pattern euros for non-Eurozone French territories were produced in small quantities by private or semi-official interests around 2005, riding a wave of speculative fantasy coinage that followed euro adoption.
