| Obverse description | The bimetallic centre features a detailed view of a section of the medieval city walls of Ávila, rendered in fine relief against the field. The legend ESPAÑA arcs along the upper periphery of the inner disc, flanked by the year of issue 2019 and the Madrid Mint mark (M) positioned to its right. The outer copper-nickel ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union flag, evenly spaced around the circumference in accordance with the standard Spanish 2 Euro commemorative design. |

| Additional information |
Spain's commemorative two-euro program rotating through UNESCO World Heritage Sites has produced dozens of issues, but Ávila's selection connects to one of the most complete medieval defensive circuits surviving anywhere in Europe — the city walls were largely complete by the late 11th century and have seen remarkably little structural alteration since. The 2019 issue is a standard mintage piece with no notable production anomalies recorded.
