The inner core depicts a three-quarter portrait of the celebrated Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis shown conducting, his right hand raised with a baton and his left hand extended forward. To his left, a treble clef and musical staff are rendered in relief, evoking his celebrated musical legacy. A circular legend in Greek script arcs around the upper portion of the outer ring reading '100 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΓΕΝΝΗΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΜΙΚΗ ΘΕΟΔΩΡΑΚΗ' (100 Years Since the Birth of Mikis Theodorakis), while 'ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ' (Hellenic Republic) appears along the lower arc. The date '2025' is inscribed in the lower field of the inner core, and twelve five-pointed stars occupy the outer ring in the standard European Union arrangement. |

The common reverse design for the 2 Euro denomination features a geographical map of Europe spanning both the inner core and the outer ring on the right side of the coin. The denomination '2 EURO' is superimposed over the map, with the large numeral '2' positioned in the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. Twelve five-pointed stars are arranged on the outer ring, six above and six below the map of Europe, with six vertical lines crossing the inner core to visually link the two groups of stars. |
