| Reverse description | The common reverse design for the 2 Euro denomination, as engraved by Luc Luycx, occupies the bimetallic field. A large numeral 2 is prominently rendered to the left of centre in the inner nickel-brass disc, with a relief map of Europe depicted to the right, superimposed with the legend EURO across its face. The outer copper-nickel ring displays the twelve stars of the European Union separated by fine vertical lines, a security feature common to all 2 Euro circulation coinage. The designer's initials LL appear discreetly within the map design. |
