| Obverse description | The inner core depicts a three-quarter portrait of Laskarina Bouboulina, the Greek naval commander and heroine of the Greek War of Independence, shown wearing traditional dress and a headscarf, her right arm raised and extended toward the left. Behind her, the masts and rigging of a sailing warship rise dynamically into the field, evoking her legendary command at sea. To the left of the portrait, the mint mark of the National Mint of Greece and the date 2025 appear in the field. The commemorative legend 200 XRONIA APO TO THANATO THS LASKARINAS MPOUMPOYLINAS (200 Years from the Death of Laskarina Bouboulina) curves along the upper portion of the outer ring in Greek script, while ELLENIKE DEMOKRATIA (Hellenic Republic) appears along the lower arc. Twelve stars of the European Union are evenly distributed around the outer ring. |
