| Descrizione del dritto | The central field features an abstract architectural composition inspired by the work of Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, incorporating stylised letters and geometric grid motifs evoking his characteristic blend of classical and modernist design. A prominent Ionic column capital rises from the centre of the design, flanked by bold architectural letterforms arranged in a structured grid pattern. The birth year '1872' appears to the lower left within the design, while the legend 'JOŽE PLEČNIK' is inscribed horizontally across the lower portion of the inner disc. The country name 'SLOVENIJA' and the issue year '2022' are positioned vertically to the right of the central motif. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union. |

Issued to mark the centenary of Plečnik's return to Ljubljana in 1921, when he accepted a teaching post at the newly founded University of Ljubljana and began the transformation of the city that would occupy him for the next three decades. The Austro-Hungarian empire had collapsed, Slovenia was now part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, and a young capital needed an identity. Plečnik, trained under Otto Wagner in Vienna, provided it.
He never received the Pritzker Prize — he died in 1957, four years before it existed — but was posthumously awarded it in 2020, the first such posthumous recognition in the prize's history.
