| Obverse description | The centre field features eight horizontal bands of inscribed text commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Imprensa Nacional (National Mint), including the founding and commemorative dates 1768–2018, the legend IMPRENSA NACIONAL, the denomination in full DUZENTOS E CINQUENTA, the numeral 250, the word ANOS, and the country name PORTUGAL, along with the Roman date MMXVIII. The designer's name EDUARDO AIRES and the mint acronym INCM appear at the lower portion of the inner disc. The outer ring is adorned with the twelve stars of the European Union, in keeping with the standard eurozone bimetallic format. |
