The country name MALTA is inscribed along the upper portion of the inner disc, with the four-digit date 2022 immediately below it. The engraver's initials NGB appear discreetly within the field. Along the lower arc of the inner core, the legend ĦAL-SAFLIENI HYPOGEUM 4000 – 2500 BC is inscribed in capital letters. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union in relief. |
