| Beschrijving keerzijde | The standard European reverse features a relief map of Western Europe spanning both the central disc and the inner portion of the outer ring on the right side of the coin. The denomination 2 EURO is superimposed across the map, with the numeral 2 prominently placed in the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the word EURO inscribed across the continental landmass. Twelve stars of the European Union are distributed along the right arc of the outer ring, with six above and six below the map, and six vertical lines in the inner core visually link the two groups of stars.
