Reverse description The standard reverse design for all European Union 2 Euro commemorative coins, engraved by Luc Luycx, depicts a large numeral 2 to the left of centre, with a stylised map of Europe occupying the right portion of the inner disc. The legend EURO is inscribed horizontally across the centre. The mint mark of the Royal Dutch Mint (a mercury caduceus) and the engraver's initials LL appear in the field. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union.
